Mostly Egg Trays

Leap Frog Human Body glow-in-the-dark skeleton stickers. Bobo is interested in bones. They can be dinosaur bones, fossils and especially skeletons.

Jack and the Beanstalk and the goose who laid the golden egg activity. We found this kit at Big Lots!

Magnetic eggs. I put the magnet balls inside the eggs and used the wands from our kit. You can twirl the wand above the eggs and they will spin around. We also took these in the bath for a floating experiment. When the magnets were in the eggs, they floated. They sunk by themselves. Bobo also discovered the wand stuck to the bath tub.

Matching sounds with kitchen items. First, Bobo identified the items in the egg container: rice, lentils, M&Ms, noodles, fruit snacks and coffee. Then, he shook the eggs to guess what is inside. Finally, he ate all the good things.

Shape identification. Daddy supervised this activity. Bobo needs to work on the names of shapes. When I came home from work, all the shapes were missing. Not sure what happened? Maybe we can identify them when we find them again.

Crayola Glowing activity. This tray was requested. We've used it several times before... There are a couple of different themes in the box.

Sensory Bin: Egg Surprise!

"What's in the eggs?" queries Bobo. "Is it candy?"

No candy this time, just lots of these little guys.

The duck and dinosaur, or the good guys, in jail. Everything somehow turns into superhero imaginative play.

Bobo asked me to keep his play dough man. Since the dough was several weeks old, I let his creation dry out. Now, I have an adorable sculpture for my office!

Tot School: More April Trays

Do-a-dot Easter eggs.

Play dough bunnies and snakes (imaginative play).

Jewels and tweezers.

Streamer, glue, paper and scissors. Bobo set up this tray similar to the tape Easter egg watercolor tray.

Easter egg skewers with styrofoam cubes.

Music drawer. This is something I always have available, along with two play dough drawers. Bobo gets instruments out for everyone and we sing or play music while dancing with our percussion instruments. We also have a piano in our school room.

Bobo found this bubble pipe in our closet o' fun. He has trouble with the traditional wands, so this is a great alternative. I'm pretty sure it came in a variety pack I bought for his birthday party.

365 Days Challenge: Easter Egg Hunt

This is my first post for our 365 Days Outdoors Challenge posed by Gina from Familigia and Seoul. I think you can join anytime, just start your 365 days with the first day of your acceptance. Today, we had an Easter egg hunt outdoors to find the Easter basket.

I didn't say anything about the Easter bunny. I just told Bobo I saw some Easter eggs outside. He got his monkey Easter basket and started hunting.

He missed quite a few eggs, but luckily found the path I had devised to lead to the Easter basket.

"Woah, Ben 10 basket?!!"

After he opened the Ben 10 costume, we had to move indoors because he was going to strip in front of the house to get it on.

He hasn't taken it off yet...

Books: Easter

Mater believes in the Easter Buggy, but Lightning McQueen does not. Lightning tries desperately to deliver a basket, so Mater isn't disappointed. Fun and engaging book!

I never truly appreciated the world of Charlie Brown. Now, that I'm seeing it through Bobo's eyes, I find it charming and funny. Snoopy and Woodstock have captured a special place in my heart.

I've asked for these Lift-the-Flap books for every holiday to use during storytime. This one is more challenging than the others. I had to peek on a few of them to "guess" correctly.

The Easter Bunny misses Easter, so he tries to deliver his eggs on other holidays. Bobo found this VERY funny, especially when E.B. tries to deliver an Easter egg to Santa.

This wonderfully lyric book ends with one sleepy sheep cuddling up with his mama. Bobo said, "Aww, mama," and gave me a great big hug at the end. You've gotta love a book that gets THAT result.
