365 Outdoors: Rain Painting

I glued a piece of white construction paper to a rice box to make it thicker. Bobo sprinkled powder tempera paint all over the paper. He used red and yellow.

Then, he used a feather to spread the paint.

We put the project in the rain. The raindrops splashed a mix of colors all over the paper. The middle where he overlapped the colors turned a brilliant orange. This was a fun, simple project. Best of all, it enticed us outside in cold, yucky weather. We both had a great time without rainy day blues.

  3. Brilliant idea! I've never seen this done before. It's not very often I see an art project I haven't seen. Your blog is so much fun. I've got to do some digging through it to find some fun things to do with my little ones.
