365 Days Outdoors: Moon Sand

We are transitioning into our Outer Space theme and worked on our sensory bin outside today. We used flour and baby oil to make moon sand.

Bobo measured about 10 cups of flour and poured it in our box. Then, he helped me measure 1 cup of baby oil and poured it in. This was the point where he told me he wasn't touching it.

It smells good. You still don't want to touch it? "No."

I added some tools and that was acceptable.

But, it was more fun to pretend to be a kung fu master with the tools.

  1. Isn't moon sand great! Our only mistake we made was that we did it indoors. Fortunately we have a concrete floor me played on. Next time I think we'll we doing this outdoors where I can hose off the floor. Oh so much fun.

    1. I know what you mean. We've played with our moon sand sensory bin several times this week in the playroom. Bobo actually offered to help clean up!

    1. I'll be adding a post soon all about our Moon Sensory Bin. I think he was wary of the baby oil, since we've never used it before. I'll be stopping by your site, soon.

  4. Haha! My little Priscilla hates getting her hands into things, too. She would have done the same thing! Thanks for sharing at the Kids Co-Op this week. :)
